Database
All MetSYS products work seamlessly off a common database designed to maximize performance, scalability and adaptability.

MetEnterprise, MetLITE and MetLINK all work off a common database that has been designed to be robust, flexible and scalable. This means that different organizations and users can use different products seamlessly

Scalability

Our customers can choose between two backend databases. Our SQL backend is an industry standard, and has virtually unlimited scalability. Customers will less than 300 simultaneous users have the option of using a Visual FoxPro backend, which provides unmatched speed and is less expensive. It is possible to switch back and forth between these two options.

Robust and Flexible

The MetSYS database is logically designed and fully relational. It provides unparalleled capacity for collecting the data you need to manage your programs and preparing reports documenting activities and outcomes. The MetSYS database contains over 5,500 fields about clients and your programs and services. These data cover demographic and client processing information pertinent to every major area of human service [i.e. employment, health, housing].

Our database is also highly adaptable. Authorized users can adjust picklists, and add as many as 400 new user-defined data fields.

Fully Documented

You can’t add new fields, adjust picklists, create user-defined screens, or design custom reports unless you can find the data elements you need.

MetSYS has a powerful, interactive data dictionary that makes these tasks easy.

This interactive tool enables you to run queries to find the data fields that are most appropriate for your needs. You can locate data fields by field name, descriptive title and notes attached to the field. For example, you can display a list of all the fields noted as being a compliance requirement for a program, then select the specific fields you need.

Once you’ve selected fields, you can view detailed information about the field [e.g. type of field, length of field, attached memos, and even the values of pick lists].

In short, to find the fields you want, you don’t have to thumb through pages of data lists and data dictionary printouts. You simply use a number of search parameters to identify prospective fields, then fine tune the query to “drill down” to the exact field you want.
